THE WATERBASE - THE ISLAND - THE MOUNTAINS

THE BASE:

The Amigo Airways dock

VANCOUVER ISLAND:

COMOX LAKE AND NORTH OF GEORGIA STRAIGHT.

1-3 Left to right: Beached at Comox lake with some spectacular background

4-6 Left to right: On the way up to ''Blind Channel'', north of Georgia straight.

THE LITTLE COMOX LAKE SEQUENCE...

---

Left to right: You will be asked to perform some touch and go's on ''Little Comox Lake''.

This approach is especially interesting not only for its beautiful landscape but also for the skills required to

make it safe due to the short distances involved or glassy conditions and windy days which will

create some mean updrafts and downdrafts. This will sharpen up your decision making skills.

THE TENT ISLAND UN-BEACHING SEQUENCE...

We had to secure the aircraft on the beach overnight due to some windy conditions during a camping trip with

Eelco (student) and friends.

The next morning, you might have to deal with the tides, up to 13 foot range...

...and use whatever good material such as drift woods that will provide a nice ''egyptian type'' rolling system.

THE MOUNTAINS :

BEAUTIFUL BRITISH COLUMBIA...
